Bathroom renovations in Fuengirola — complete works in three weeks
Waterproofed from the base, new plumbing, and finishes that stand up to humidity, salt air and years of use. Handover date in writing.
The original bathroom — forty years on
If your flat dates from the sixties, seventies or eighties — like most of Fuengirola — its bathroom is probably original or a cosmetic refresh from the nineties: a cast-iron bathtub, small tiles, galvanised pipes and an extractor fan that never existed. On the seafront, add what salt air and condensation have been doing inside the walls for decades.
A bathroom like that cannot be patched. Anti-damp paint and vinyl over old tiles survive a couple of summers; the real renovation strips everything back to the brick and rebuilds in the right order — new plumbing, waterproofing, and only then the beautiful part.
The bath-to-shower conversion — the most requested job in town
In a town where so many people have chosen to spend their retirement, climbing over a bathtub edge every day is not an inconvenience: it is a risk. We convert baths to walk-in showers in about five days — flush resin tray, made-to-measure glass, thermostatic taps, and a seat or grab rail integrated into the design rather than bolted on as an afterthought.
What the complete renovation includes
- Full strip-out with the rest of the home and the building's common areas protected — debris leaves bagged, the lift lined.
- New plumbing in cross-linked polyethylene with independent shut-off valves — no more brown water in August.
- Waterproofing with a documented watertightness test before a single tile goes on.
- Safe wiring: its own circuit, sockets where you use them and light in three layers — general, mirror and ambient.
- Real ventilation: mechanical extraction sized to the room. In Fuengirola's humidity it is what separates a new bathroom from a mouldy one two years later.
- Finishes: large-format porcelain or microcement, wall-hung sanitaryware, bespoke vanity and lit mirror.
Everything with a handover date in writing and one manager on site daily. If you live abroad, you will receive the weekly photo report like on any of our projects — the bathroom is the renovation most often commissioned remotely, precisely because it fits entirely between two visits to your apartment.

Bathroom questions
Can a bathroom really be finished in three weeks?
Yes — provided everything is decided before we start. Sanitaryware, taps, tiles and the shower screen are purchased before demolition. The renovations that drag on are the ones decided as they go.
How long does a bath-to-shower conversion take?
Around five days as a standalone job: non-slip resin tray, made-to-measure glass screen and thermostatic taps. If the rest of the bathroom is over twenty years old, we will tell you honestly whether the complete renovation makes more sense.
What about damp and leaks?
We treat the cause, not the symptom: strip-out to the base, waterproof membrane on floor and shower area, and a documented watertightness test before tiling. It is the part of the bathroom you never see and the only one where saving money is a mistake.
Can I use the bathroom during the works?
If the flat has a second bathroom you will barely notice the works. If there is only one, we keep it operational overnight during the first days and give you notice of the two or three critical plumbing days.
Is it worth it for a rental flat?
It is the highest-return renovation of a rental property: a new bathroom lifts the nightly rate and eliminates plumbing incidents — the most repeated holiday-rental complaint. We fit materials made for turnover.
Can the bathroom be part of a bigger project?
Yes, and it usually pays: within a full renovation the bathroom shares installations and trades already on site and the cost drops.
